HOME

Pizza night with the Futterers: sluggish grocery shopping, samples, appetizers aka caprese,  words of advice aka rambling on and on, red wine, talk of music, running out of cooking supplies, more red wine, Valero run for tinfoil, whitty jabs, frequent disagreements, hugs, and a ton of food.

future living

I am no environmentalist, but I would not mind having a greenhouse as my vacation suite. How cozy would it be to snuggle up with your hubby and a cup of cocoa in this fabulous abode? Pretty cozy.

Maui Wowie

This Thanksgiving my pop came to visit me in Hawaii and we thought we should venture to another island besides Oahu. I needed to explore elsewhere. When I say elsewhere, I mean Maui. When I say explore, I mean vacation. Maui is only a hop, skip, and a jump away from me, which is far enough away from Laie to get some fresh air. After having Thanksgiving dinner on the beach and having a near death rock-climbing experience, Pop's and I hit the town down in Lahaina. We saw some live music at Kimo's, walked through art night,  and roamed over to the Lahaina grill for their famous triple berry pie.

Havnt been to Maui? Go there...tomorrow.

Youth Lagoon

Youth Lagoon's album "The Year of Hibernation" continues to impress me, song after song. Favorite songs on the album include Montana (above), Bobby, and July. All of which I highly recommend.

I have three treasures, Guard and keep them:
The first is deep love,
The second is frugality,
And the third is not to dare to be ahead of the world,
Because of deep love, one is courageous.
Because of frugality, one is generous.
Because of not daring to be ahead of the world, one becomes the leader of the world.

Giselle Elisabeth Ramirez

She is fierce and sassy with hair that says it all. Her vivacious spirit and passionate attitude is fearlessly expressed. She exudes pure happiness and points her toes while cooking in the kitchen.

principle

“Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult-once we truly understand and accept it-then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.”

This would look great in my house...I think I'm going to make it.

entertainment - a MUST see

Emma: "I think we need some rules..."
Dexter: "Rules?!"
Emma: "I'm not taking any chances with our friendship. Separate bedrooms, no flirting and absolutely no skinny dipping."

Rules are made to be broken.

hope

Color my life with the chaos of trouble.

moments

TIME: Who really understands it? It is completely open to interpretation and everyone feels differently about it. Some fear growing old, some fear what tomorrow brings, and others fear the consequences of the past. The thing that people don't realize about time is that there is a lot of it. My aunt said "life is short so we have to make it seem really long." Embrace the time you have and the time you've spent living. Let the wrinkles fuse to your face because you've earned them.
TIMING: Timing is everything. Randomly running into an old friend who ends up getting you a job that leads you to your destined profession. Choosing to stop and get a Starbucks, then you see a car accident on the freeway that happened about ten minutes before. Every moment of everyday means something so before making a decision, think to yourself is now the right time?
